The Garden and Landscaping

Community Garden
We designate an area as our "Community Garden" where food and herbs are grown. Everything will be grown organically and eventually when it thrives the food will be part of our CSA (community supported agriculture) program where residents can opt in to buying healthy food grown on our land. Residents can choose to work in the garden or pay a small monthly fee for the organic food through the CSA or choose to buy their own food elsewhere.
When our garden thrives, our cherries, blueberries, pineapples, lettuce, fresh herbs and other fresh organic food will also make wonderful additions to our weekly Common House dinners!

Landscaping
In general, we have encouraged an approach to landscaping that emphasizes native plants, organics, and permaculture design. They will encourage critters like beautiful songbirds, humming birds, and butterflies. Landscaping will contain tall wildflowers, beneficial plants, edibles and more. It will be beautifully park-like or english garden style and one of things that will attract future residents.

We'd rather have lots of plants and flowers in our community rather than just grass. Certain areas can be more heavily grown than others.

“A more sustainable community recognizes and supports people's evolving sense of well-being, which includes a sense of belonging, a sense of place, a sense of self worth, a sense of safety, and a sense of
connection with nature...”
